Appalachian Out Buildings
Sheds...Barns...Workshops...Picnic Shelters...Adirondacks...Tree houses...Cabins...Chicken coops...etc
The wood for these projects was substantially harvested on our property from diseased, damaged, dead, or cull trees and sawn at a neighbors sawmill. The hinges and stained glass windows are flea market finds. The clear glass windows were salvaged from the landfill. The only new items purchased were the nails, screws, and the metal roofing.
I can close my eyes, see a space and in my minds eye I can count the number of boards it will take to build it.
I especially enjoy the irregular nature of the rough sawn lumber and the uniqueness of all the building materials. I find the construction to be more akin creating a sculpture than a building.
Let me know if I can design a building for you!
